Independent grid code testing · For global utilities, IPPs and OEMs
Who we are

Built on the rigor the work demands.

An independent engineering team across six disciplines — grid code testing, plant performance, power system studies, BESS compliance, regulator filings and generator condition. More than 30 GW of electrical capacity evaluated across field measurements and dynamic-modeling work. Modern equipment, disciplined methodology, and a team that travels wherever the plant operates.

The firm

Grid Code Engineering exists to make compliance work defensible — anywhere, any technology, any regulator.

Grid Code Engineering is the independent technical authority that power plant operators, IPPs, EPC contractors and OEMs trust across six grid code disciplines — testing, performance, power system studies, BESS compliance, regulator filings and generator condition. The practice is built around three foundations: a team of bilingual engineers with more than 30 GW of electrical capacity evaluated across field and dynamic-modeling work, a disciplined methodology that satisfies the world's most demanding grid codes, and current-generation measurement instrumentation calibrated to international standards.

In our first years of operation, our portfolio has grown to 50+ commissioned plants spanning 1 MW to 1 GW — across thermal, combined cycle, combustion engine, cogeneration and biogas technologies. Our client roster of 30+ relationships includes ENGIE, Iberdrola, AES, Mitsubishi Power, Wärtsilä, Siemens, Acciona, New Fortress Energy, GENERA, Jenbacher, Telmex, Valia Energía and Quantum Energía. Engagements span multiple countries — and the next chapter is bringing this capability to the markets where our clients already operate.

Independence is structural, not promotional. We hold no OEM affiliations, sell no equipment, and accept no manufacturer commissions. The only deliverable we sell is the technical truth — defensible under regulator review, transparent under audit, and authored in the language the regulator reads.

Field execution

When the plant is approaching first synchronization and the dispatch window opens, the work happens here — boots on concrete, instrument in hand, every measurement accounted for.

How we work

Four foundations that govern every engagement.

/ 01 · Methodology

A documented five-phase methodology for every project.

Every engagement follows the same five phases: regulatory pre-assessment, test program design, field execution, dynamic model validation, and regulator submission. Each phase produces specific deliverables. Every step is auditable.

  • Pre-assessment · 2–4 weeks
  • Test program · 3–6 weeks
  • Field execution · 1–3 weeks on site
  • Model validation · 4–8 weeks
  • Regulator submission · through approval
/ 02 · Instrumentation

Current-generation equipment, calibrated and traceable.

Energy quality analyzers, high-speed recorders, real-time simulators, power analyzers — plus the smaller accessories that make every field connection smooth and seamless under stressful operating conditions. Every instrument is on a documented calibration cycle.

  • Energy quality analyzers
  • High-speed recorders
  • Real-time simulators
  • Power analyzers
  • Field-tested connection accessories
/ 03 · Remote-site capability

Mobilization to any plant location, under any operating conditions.

From the Baja California Sur peninsula to the Yucatán; from Mexicali in the desert to industrial Saltillo; from Mexico to Puerto Rico to Scotland. We mobilize specialized instrumentation with full HSE protocols, customs coordination and bilingual reporting prepared for the local regulator.

  • HSE-compliant field deployment
  • Customs & logistics handled end-to-end
  • Live-condition testing capability
  • Bilingual reporting (EN · ES · PT · AR)
  • Adapted to regional grid code frameworks
/ 04 · Systems

Modern internal systems for repeatable quality.

Calibration tracking, test protocol authoring, data analysis and audit trails all run on systems chosen and built for precision and speed. ISO/IEC 17020 and CNE Mexico accreditation are in progress through 2026 — internationally recognized credentials that will formalize what our methodology already delivers.

What's next

The next chapter is international.

Our methodology was built on the technical and regulatory demands of one of the world's more rigorous grid code frameworks. It transfers cleanly to any jurisdiction — and our bilingual reporting already extends across English, Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic.

The ISO/IEC 17020 accreditation we're completing in 2026 is the credential the international market recognizes for independent inspection bodies. It's the formalization of how we already work — and the foundation for the markets we're moving into next.
